'Review of The Evening Star by Larry McMurtry' 17k
I have been a fan of Larry McMurtry ever since I saw "The Last Picture Show". We grew up near to each other, and his world view is very close to my own. He gained most fame from his Pulitzer prize-winning novel about the Old West, Lonesome Dove, which some say led to the best western ever. Terms of Endearment was a lovely novel and made an excellent vehicle for Shirley MacLaine and Jack Nicholson. The Evening Star is a sequel to it, not a good but still remarkable. I am not sure whether or not this review was published. I wrote it in 1993.
