'Anthropology of Cyberspace: Review of Sherry Turkle, Life on the Screen'33K
I was asked to review this book by the magazine Wired and was glad to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of the internet, in particular, experiments with personal identity. I took a sceptical view based on object relations theory in psychoanalysis. I append some further comments I put on the net on interviews with her and other essays of hers. A version of my review, altered for the worse by the editor, appeared in the British edition of Wired, June 1996.
