I was invited to give the Annual Guest Lecture to the Irish Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Dublin on 15 November 2003. The text draws on an earlier article, 'Is "Perversion" Obsolete?' (1996) but offers a wider and deeper framework, though less detailed clinical material. It will appear in Free Associations.
