I think the real charge in relation to Freud is not over whether he changed his mind concupiscently over the seduction theory as Masson suggests or that he therefore missed sexual abuse. Rather the charge is that he suggested (and suggested underdescribes it) the events he then recounts to patients and pressed his view on them.
